RX-7 crashes at Bonneville at over 200 mph- those ignorant of history.....
.... are doomed to repeat it
Maybe someone should have been talking to Racing Beat

A racer at Speed Week escaped serious injury Wednesday when he flipped his car while traveling more than 200 mph.
The driver complained of lower back pain, but it was not clear whether he would even visit a trauma center, said JoAnn Carlson, the media liaison for Speed Week.
The driver was racing a Mazda RX-7 on the Bonneville Salt Flats as part of the annual races and exhibitions. Further information was not immediately available.

So because Racing Beat can't do it, it cannot be done?
I'm just a bit confused as to the context. Terrible to see an accident but pushing the envelope is not without risk.

i was saying that from what i read it lifted pretty much the same way as Racing Beat's. Perhaps had they spoken to them (and i dont know that they didnt)and/or learned from that episode they would have stayed on the ground.
and hey maybe they are thinking "we want to figure it out on our own" which is fine way to go but learning from the mistakes of others is just as good as learning form your own.

Well, it was the FD that got airborne, maybe they thought they were safe with the FC chassis. *don't know what I'm talking about*
Speedhunters has documented their efforts from 2009, they had stability problems last year as well.

It was the Dandy team. I feel sorry for them I really do. Hell of an effort he/they have put on the last few years in this car and to have it totalled must be a real blow. hopefully they can recover and go for it again.
