Just the standard rotrex cooler at the moment.

Just dont really have the room for a larger cooler, but maybe ill look into the rx8performance's undertray with the dual oil coolers for the trans and rotrex unit

Thanks for the advice!

Torque figure is incorrect - better to just calculate it .....

T = [HP x 5252] / rpm

looks like somewhere around 190 ft/lbs

Nice result Jason - I'll add it to the highest whp dyno thread when i get some time .

So finally got back on working on the car.

During the last dyno/tuning sessions it was obvious that my tranmission has been damaged evident by the drastic slipping that was occuring on the dyno, which never allowed a true dyno run at the desired full boost and thus tuning was ended early

The transmission is now undergoing a major rehaul, by a local company here in AUS.
It is getting every gear rebuilt and strengthened, new custom valve body for increased pressure, replacing all clutches in every gear and machining additional clutches in, all electronic solenoids getting replaced, torque converter strengthened and stall converter going up by 500 RPM.

Basically what is promised to me as a result of all this work is.
1. Better launches
2. Completely eliminates flaring in gears
3. Able to change gears whilst under WOT conditions up until 9,500 RPM.

Once this is done, im adding in
BHR Coils
DW 200 Fuel Pump
Fuel Pressure Gauge
*maybe* separate transmission oil cooler

In the mean time:
I have changed to cat back to a RB one to quieten the car down

Created a custom 4 litre tank in the factory battery tray,

It is seperated in the middle with one size housing 2 litres of two stroke for the SOHN and the other 2 litre containing a baffled oil catch can.

Powder Coated Black

Once this is done it will be back to the tuners to hopefully... possibly..... crack the 300rwhp for an auto.

IF and a big IF that happens i can finally wrap this long thread up, condense it and throw it in the major horsepower section without being shot up in flames!

Yea, ill definately keep u guys posted.

Ill make some videos once everything is done, showing the speedo under WOT and shifting.

Other day was at my mechanics and we did some calculation of all the money i spent, it was already enough for a full REW swap with upgraded turbos! 350 rwkw atleast! haha

Sorry for the late update, the transmission build took way longer then anticipated and i had to go Europe for work.

The transmission is now in, the stall converter was able to achieve 500-750rpm more of stall.

But let me tell you, the car feels amazing.

Gear changes are so crisp, whether in tip tronic or full auto, Bam and its in next gear, no delay at all.

I have always had a slight flare going from second to third, but that is eliminated now.

I have not taken the car to redline yet, as the transmission only has 50kms on it. I am aiming to get around 600-800 kms into the car this week, before it goes in to get tuned on coming Monday.

I can not say if the car has picked up power without proper evidence, but it is definitely *faster*, it just feels the power of the engine is getting transferred to the wheels alot better.

I have attached a few photos of the transmission before it went in. Sorry for the bad quality, my phone camera is quite scratched on the lense

Wow, congrats! Wish I could speed up my 2nd to 3rd shift. I've got that same flaring that you talk about unless I get the trans fluid good and warm. Thinking about trying a different fluid that Phil recommended the next time mine needs changing.

This is the stuff that Phil had recommended, but I don't remember it being 119 bucks a quart like they say here!

Did a quick search, and here's at least one place that says they have it for 10 bucks a quart: ENEOS - Automatic Transmission Fluids - Synthetic ATF

Ok, done with thread hijack

wow @ 119 per quarts, the full fill up with a empty transmission and converter took almost 11 litres of ATF.

So lets say at 12 quarts. $1428 dollars... WOW.

Sad to say, there is no distributor for eneos oil in australia

Shipping would cost me... 450 bucks =(

I think it was just priced that high because it was out of stock on amazon. The other site had it for 10 bucks a quart.

Sounds like whatever fluid you are running is working well anyway. You'll have to let us know how it holds up if you take it to a track day.

So Ben

last i remember is that you needed to change your fuel pump, how did you end up needing to change your entire fuel tank?
